Murals for PS 373K Brooklyn Transition Center

OFICINA developed 4 murals for PS 373K Brooklyn Transition Center, a special education public school.

In this participatory project, students and teachers selected inspirational quotes for each mural during art classes. The playful murals were located at the main circulation spaces to enhance its spacial qualities. Oficina coordinated and instructed diverse groups of volunteers recruited by New York Cares to paint the murals on a weekly basis. The project culminated on Martin Luther King day during which Oficina led a group of 40 volunteers from all walks of life with vibrant and colorful results.
